The Handsome Man with Athletic Thighs
Running In Circles

Wednesday, March 7th

I've meant to update here for a long time, but I've fallen so far behind, I'll never catch up. The most exciting thing I've done is head down to LA to watch a stage of the Amgen Tour of California. I intended to watch two stages, but I was throwing up all day when I planned to go out to Balcom Canyon, and I just didn't feel well enough to make it out that day. So, I only saw the final stage, which was great. I want to put a page together like I did last year, but this set from my Flickr page will have to suffice for now.

(On a side note: I was perusing the Velonews race reports when I ran across this picture. If you look closely, you can see yours truly taking photos. I'm in the gray sweatshirt and black hat, and I appear to be springing from the yellow helmet of the motorcycle driver. Graham Watson took my picture. I don't think anyone realizes how cool I think that is.)

My training has been on a bit of a roller coaster—some weeks are good, some weeks are bad—but I think I'm back into the swing of things. I've seen a lot of birds on my runs, everything from Bald Eagles to Belted Kingfishers. Actually getting out to run sure improves my chances of spotting something cool. I don't get too many rarities to perch on top of my TV.

Sometimes I feel like I'm breathing underwater.
