Comments: Angie and I spent the weekend at Jake's cabin on Useless Bay. The weather was pretty crummy, so we spent most of the time indoors. We did manage to squeeze in one game of beach golf despite the rain, cold, and dark.
For me, the highlight of the trip was spotting a couple of unusual birds out in the lagoon. I saw a
Greater Yellowlegs and a pair of
Red-breasted Mergansers. I also saw the usual crowd of sandpipers (I couldn't tell you which kind),
Great Blue Herons, and
Red-winged Blackbirds.
